Frantic Clam - Anatomica

For their recent EP, Anatomica, Frantic Clam needed artwork that reflected both their indie-rock roots, the emotional and heavier-than-it-seems content of their songs, and the edgy quality of their sound. With its vibrant colors and straightforward, moderately grungy style, the artwork is easily appealing to indie sensibilities, while masking darker undertones. For live performances, the artwork has been projected behind the band.

Patsy Moore - The Most Private Confessions of Saint Clair

Patsy Moore's album is a wonderful mix of beauty and confession, the stark meeting in calming acceptance. Patsy and I worked on creating album art that reflected this balance. Harsh and striking yet soft and relaxing, the album art is an apt expression of the music itself.

FWD - EP

The unfortunately disbanded FWD created, from a collection of unfinished tracks, a wonderfully discordant electronic EP, aptly titled EP in honor of their, well, finished business. Their work was chaotic yet meticulous, dark yet vivid, electronic but organic, and I tried to convey that in the artwork.

Sh - Twin

Sh is a peculiar pair of DJs bringing to mind a mix of Frontline Assembly, Mindless Self Indulgance, and happy hardcore. Somehow, it translates as very stylish and aged, which I attempted to convey with restraint in the otherwise menacing design and washed-out colors.

Megan & the 808s - Flyer, The Broken Trust

I created a promotional flyer for Megan & the 808s, a bizarre, stripped-down trio reminescent of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs with a drum machine (yes, actually an 808, but only one). Their music is at turns serene and melodic, then grungy and unforgiving. I tried to capture that along with their strange fascination with birds and machines.

Rich Austin - Right at Home

I selected only a bit of my work for my portfolio. This album cover is so old I actually no longer have a larger size. But, I've always been partial to how this curious mix of styles suited a jazz musician.
